Year 1

I am looking forward to an exciting Spring Term, when we will discover why our senses are so important to us and present our own weather reports on the big screen!

A curriculum overview for the Spring term will be sent home shortly, giving more detailed information about the topics covered in the next few months.

A big ‘thank you’ for all the beautiful cards and presents I received for Christmas. They were very much appreciated and enjoyed.

A big thank you to all our talented Foundation and Key Stage 1 children for giving wonderful performances of our Christmas concert last week! You were brilliant actors and singers! Well done!

Also, may I thank all Year 1 parents and families for providing wonderful costumes for your children. Your help was greatly appreciated and the children looked fabulous and really enjoyed wearing their outfits.

Thank you all! It started our Christmas celebrations magically.

It was ‘Friendship Week’ in school last week and we had lots of fun and learned some really important lessons about ourselves and how we get on with other people.
We really enjoyed the Altru theatre company’s visit on Tuesday, especially when we met the two ugly sisters and Jack (without his beanstalk!).
We listened to each other well during our friendship circle times and loved thinking about what makes our good friends special. We especially liked drawing them!
A big well done to everyone for taking part in the speech bubble competition! Especially Thomas, Liam and Amalie-your bubbles look brilliant in the hall!
A big ‘thank you’ to Mrs Crooks for putting up the lovely display ‘Make Me Smile’.

Welcome to our Year 1 blog for 2011-12!
This half term we have enjoyed learning all about how we have changed and grown since we were babies. We know alot more about animal babies and life cycles of creatures like butterflies and frogs.
Thank you to everyone who brought in objects for our Autumn Treasures table. It looks wonderful!

I can’t believe we are at the end of another academic year! It has been a fantastic year in Y1.
Thank you to all parents/grandparents/friends for your invaluable support this year.
A big ‘thank you’ too for the lovely gifts and cards I have received this week.
The biggest ‘thank you’ of all is reserved for the children. What a wonderful class!! Have fun and work hard in Year 2!
